The Wye River beach is expansive and perfect for family enjoyment. It's dog friendly year round (check signs for on or off lead times).  Walking from the river to the point will take some time and beach combing however you'll be rewarded with relics of the old pier, plenty of rock pools and private spots to chill out.  Surfing from the main beach is great for all abilities (be sensible - the swell can get big) and further toward the point it's better if you're more experienced.  The river provides a safer water-play area for younger children.  Wye River Beach: just right for sandcastles and cricket! Patrolled in Summer.

Separation Creek beach is smaller in area than Wye but not at all substandard!  It is idyllic, a little quieter (there are less homes in Separation Creek) and more protected than Wye.  Its a lovely spot.

Kennett River is expansive, a great place to watch the sunrise and a popular swimming a surfing spot for locals.  Tradies from Apollo Bay flock to Kennett to surf so if the swell is good after about 4 in the afternoon you may have to share the waves! (Check your surf etiquette - be considerate of others in the water - don't try to surf in waves beyond your ability).  The main beach and river mouth are perfect for families and there are rockpools to explore on either side of the beach.

Along this section of the Great Ocean Road there are numerous lookouts and beach access points to discover.  Find out more
