Barlidjaru (Bar-lid-ja-ru) #2

Rating: More Difficult - Distance: 6Km

The local indigenous word for Platypus is “Barlidjaru”, (bar-lid-ja-ru). This trail links Forrest to Lake Elizabeth and climbs most of the way to the Lake Elizabeth carpark. You can leave your bike here and enjoy a walk to the Lake and maybe catch a glimpse of the lake’s resident platypi.

The moderate climb is the main feature of this trail! Sections of Barlidjaru form part of the Red Carpet and the trail is also duel use..... and frequented by native wildlife.

Red Carpet #3

Rating: More Difficult - Distance: 6Km

The Red Carpet is a single track return trail from Lake Elizabeth. This trail flows through tall Eucalypt forests featuring fun, challenging descents and tight technical climbs for an exciting return option to the township. You’ve simply just got to hit Red Carpet when you’re in Forrest! The faster you go on Red Carpet the more technical it becomes.....with tight switchbacks, some steep sections an awesome finish, it’s easy to understand why the crew from the Otway Odyssey uses Red Carpet for the timed downhill!! This trail doesn’t cope very well with wet weather.... so please adhere to our track conditions advice!! Check out the Otway Odyssey's clip on the Red Carpet descent https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zovcgHYphx4&feature=youtu.be

Roller Coaster #4

Third Time Lucky #5

Rating: More Difficult - Distance: 2Km

Third Time Lucky has plenty of trail features including bermed corners and jumps. This is an excellent trail to learn the different skills needed for mountain biking while enjoying the sensation of riding through the bush and old growth forest.

There’s plenty of “air time” on offer from an array of obstacle....you’ll be wanting to shred this trail over and over again!

Follow the Dog #6

Rating: More Difficult - Distance: 4.5Km

Follow the Dog is another trail that is worth trying at least two times, this free flowing trail takes you through tall open eucalypt forest and dense fern gullies. Physically Follow the dog’ is challenging; there’s a good long climbs and even better fast following decent with lots of features. The sweeping bearms on the run are unbelievably fun......and certainly closely rival the Marriners Run! If you haven’t taken this run before, take your time as some of the steeper sections can be punishing. Follow the Dog and the southern trails are a great place to come to get away from the hectic-ness of Yaugher.
